Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund

If you’re taking the next steps with your studies at Bradford College, an Advanced Learner Loan could provide the financial support you need.

The Advanced Learner Loan is for people aged 19 and over who want to complete a Level 3 or 4 course. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of your course, and the loan can cover all or part of your tuition fees.

You will need to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan or pay your fees independently:

  • If you are aged 19 or above and you already have a full Level 3 qualification.
  • If you are aged 19 or above and studying a Level 4 qualification.

Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund

The bursary fund for Advanced Learner Loan students aged 19 and over with a household income of less than £30,000 is part of the Learner Support Fund.

It’s a grant, so you don’t have to pay it back.

It’s to help pay for things like:

  • books, uniform
  • travel costs
  • childcare

You must attend your classes to meet the attendance criteria of the bursary. If your attendance drops below 85% you may lose your grant.

How to apply

Apply as soon as you’ve enrolled on your course. If you wait you may lose out on money.

Online

THIS IS THE MAIN WAY WE WILL BE TAKING APPLICATIONS.  You can log into the Bursary Portal using your Bradford College Microsoft User ID and password, complete the short application form and upload the supporting documents you are asked to provide.  As soon as your application has been assessed you will be able to see your bursary award letter and details of your award on the PayMyStudent Portal.

In-Person

In exceptional circumstances, if you cannot complete your bursary application on-line your application can be completed in person.

A member of staff will go through the bursary application process with you.
