Where do you see yourself in the future?

Bradford College is hosting a programme of virtual events as part of National Careers Week. Wherever you want to be in the future, Bradford College will show you how you can achieve your goals and career ambitions.

New possibilities

The events will offer a chance to find out more about progressing into further and higher education. During the week, Bradford College will also offer glimpses into careers including the Armed Forces, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Fire and Rescue and the Crown Prosecution Service.

Graham Bailey, Head of Student Services, said: “During National Careers Week we want to make sure our students and apprentices and their families have all the information they need about the choices open to them as they progress. Good careers information advice and guidance is now more important than ever as the economy is changing so rapidly.”

An exciting calendar of events

The virtual events calendar begins on Monday 1 March, when the Careers Team will talk about what apprenticeships are, the different types and levels of apprenticeships, and where people can find them. There will also be a focus on the growth areas in the labour market including cyber, construction and the health care professions. There will also be insights into studying and careers in drama, the digital industries, racing and automotive careers among other sectors.

Those considering higher education can find out more about it on Tuesday 2 March. The Careers Team and Liverpool John Moores University will discuss how UK university tuition fees work and how to manage tuition fees, university living costs and UK student loans. In the same day the Student Engagement and Access to Widening Participation Team will discuss schemes to encourage more students from a variety of backgrounds students into higher education, including access to grants and bursaries.

The Work Placements Team will lead sessions on careers in the police, fire and rescue services and the Armed Forces. Bradford College has strong connections with these sectors.
