This course is designed for aspiring actors, dancers, singers, and theatre-makers who want to develop advanced skills and prepare for university or a career in the performing arts industry. You’ll work on professional-standard projects, perform in live shows, and even create your own productions.
As part of Bradford College’s Producing Academy, you’ll collaborate with other creatives, gain industry insights, and build a portfolio that showcases your talent.
Selected students will also have the chance to join our exclusive Ambition [HUB] programme– a Level 3 stretch and challenge initiative offering extra opportunities, advanced workshops, and personalised support to help you excel.
Develop your craft through practical training in acting, movement, and voice, alongside creative projects that challenge you to think critically and work collaboratively. Learn how to research and interpret scripts, plan and produce performances, and adapt your skills for stage and screen. Projects might include live theatre productions, filmed scenes, or directing your own work. Alongside performance, you’ll gain valuable production skills and experience real-world briefs that prepare you for the industry.
Entry to this course is 4 GCSEs, including GCSE English Language at Grade 4 Maths at Grade 3. You’ll also need to complete an audition, so we can see your passion and potential for performing arts.
Assessment is designed to reflect real industry practice. You’ll be evaluated through live performances, production projects, creative portfolios, and written reflections. Each project helps you develop technical and creative skills while building a professional portfolio. Your final major project is externally moderated by UAL, ensuring your work meets national standards and is recognised by employers and universities.
Gain valuable industry experience through compulsory work placements and enrichment activities. You’ll work on live briefs, collaborate with professionals, and learn how to plan, produce, and deliver performances in real-world settings. These experiences will boost your confidence, enhance your CV, and prepare you for careers in theatre, TV, and film. Our industry partners include The Royal Shakespeare Company, Dance United, and Bradford Council.
Progress to degree-level study in Acting, Musical Theatre, or Theatre Production, or step into higher apprenticeships in technical theatre or media. Career options include Actor, Musical Theatre Performer, Dancer, Director, or roles in stage and production management. Your portfolio and live performance experience will set you apart in the creative industries.
