Today (Wednesday 2 December) Bradford College hosts a very special day of celebration for our graduates.
We celebrate the hard work and achievements of the Class of 2020 with an online Graduation Ceremony, highlighting the success of students who are now ready to take the next steps in their lives.
Sadly, the Covid-19 pandemic has meant that the College has had to look at the safest possible way for our graduates to celebrate their successes this year. Due to government restrictions surrounding large-scale events, this year’s graduation ceremonies at St. George’s Hall have been postponed.
A very special thank you to friends and family
Cath Orange, Chair of Governors, told the graduates: “Before we go on to celebrate with friends and family, I have a few thank you’s.
“Thank you to the teachers, the support, the administrative staff who have kept you safe and helped you through this stage in your life journey.
“Thank you to everyone who has worked behind the scenes to make this virtual online gradation possible.
“A very special thank you to the family members, the friends, the colleagues and supporters who have raised your ambitions, encouraged you to study and helped you through those really difficult periods, when it all seemed just so hard. All their love and care should be celebrated today and remembered tomorrow.”
Stories of exceptional achievement
While every student’s success is to be celebrated, there are many examples of exceptional achievement. Benjie Kusita graduates with a First Class Honours Degree in Media Make-Up with Special Effects a year after being named the Association of Colleges (AoC)’s Higher Education Student of the Year.
The student was nominated for the award by her proud tutor Lisa Dawkins, who said: “She goes above and beyond what’s expected and she is such an amazing student and person.”
Construction and engineering students Mark Charlesworth, James Boyes, Martin Mortimer and Hussein Sanglay all graduate just months after receiving special awards from the Chartered Institute of Building for exceptional achievements.
