End-of-Year Event Marks Ambition [HUB] Achievements
Students, staff, and employer partners gathered last Wednesday to celebrate another successful year of Ambition [HUB], with an end-of-year event highlighting the incredible progress and projects completed by this year’s cohort.
The day began with an inspiring overview from Head of Professional and Leisure Services, Furkan Uddin (below left), who said: “I’m incredibly proud of our students this year, their hard work and creativity has been inspiring. Tutors have gone above and beyond, and it’s been amazing to see such strong progression across the board. I’m really excited about the new developments coming to Ambition [HUB] next year.”
Students from across the different course areas had the opportunity to present their impressive projects:
Motor Vehicle explored sustainability by working with employers to assess component lifespans
Performing Arts shared their partnership with Light Cinema, creating performances for people with dementia
Software Development impressed the crowd with a robotics project featuring an AI-powered robot
Sports students discussed collaborations with employers like Bradford Bulls, delivering coaching sessions at summer camps and half-terms
Travel & Tourism students spoke about their work on responsible tourism and mentoring
Uniformed Public Services highlighted a speed reduction campaign, first aid training, and an anti-theft device
The event also celebrated the Ambition [HUB] Student of the Year award winner, recognising the most outstanding students with an Amazon gift card and invitation to our STAR awards dinner.
In the afternoon, SkillsHouse CTE shared insights on the evolving Bradford skills landscape, leading into collaborative sessions where attendees co-created an employer-led curriculum and offered feedback on course design. The event closed with a forward-looking discussion, leaving those in attendance inspired for the future.
Speaking on behalf of one employer partner, Shaun Flynn (Bradford Bulls Foundation Manager) said: “This year’s Ambition [HUB] has gone even bigger than before. We adapted our interview process and handpicked students to join us in schools and on projects; it’s been really positive. Collaborating with the curriculum team has been invaluable, giving students real opportunities to showcase their skills and explore future career paths.”
A huge thank you goes to all our employer partners, including Better Start Bradford, Bradford Bulls, Dance United, EXA Network, JCT600, SkillsHouse CTE, The Great Victoria Hotel, The Light Cinema, and The Royal Shakespeare Company.
