  Overview

If you’re dreaming about working in the performing arts industry, study our Level 3 Performing Arts course. Whether you’re a film, tv or theatre fanatic, our courses will prepare you for an exciting future in all things performance and production from acting, singing, dancing as well as directing. The Extended Diploma in Performing Arts builds on and extends the learning undertaken on the Level 3 Diploma course and will further prepare you for progression to Higher Education or related employment adding depth, sophistication and synthesis. There is the opportunity to explore an area of specialist study and context. This leads to a substantial self-directed performing arts project for an appropriate audience. Successful completion of the course leads to Higher Education study such as the Foundation Degree in Performing Arts.

You will be able to build upon knowledge, understand and skills that you have already attained within performing arts. This course will give you an overview of different perspectives and approaches within performing arts or related subjects of study or work. You will develop the ability to research, analyse and evaluate relevant information in order to develop creative solutions to complex problems. You will learn how to use practical methods and skills for creative production for appropriate audiences whilst being able to review their effectiveness for further improvement.

A Successful Audition & 4 GCSEs including English Grade 4 Maths Grade 3

Assessment will include practical performance and production as well as evaluation of understanding of context and theory of performing arts. The Level 3 Extended Diploma is a practical, project-based, live-brief course supported by both practical performance and production and ongoing scrapbook assessment. The final major project of the course is externally moderated by University of Arts London.

Work experience and enrichment opportunities are embedded into the timetable to ensure that the course is both diverse and CV enhancing to prepare learners with industry-based experience work in the creative industries. Our links include but are not limited to – The Royal Shakespeare Company, Dance United, Bradford Council.

Successful completion of the course means that you will be in a position to progress to further study courses or you may progress directly into employment roles in the creative industries.
