Bradford College Hosts Young Enterprise Finals as Students Win Regional Awards
Bradford College students have been recognised for their creativity, professionalism and entrepreneurial talent after achieving success at the regional finals of the Young Enterprise competition.
Hosted at Bradford College for the very first time, the regional finals brought together student teams from colleges across the region to showcase their business ideas, products and employability skills in front of industry professionals and members of the public.
Representing the College were two student teams, who progressed through to the regional stage after taking part in the national Young Enterprise programme. Throughout the competition, students were tasked with developing and running their own business ventures, giving them first-hand experience of the world of enterprise.
As part of the finals, students created and managed their own trade stands, selling products while demonstrating strong communication, teamwork and customer service skills. They also took part in interviews with local business leaders, discussing how they developed their ideas, managed challenges and worked collaboratively as a team.
The competition also saw students deliver presentations to a judging panel, reflecting on their business journey and the lessons they had learned throughout the programme.
Their efforts were rewarded with two major accolades, winning both the Technology and Innovation Award and the Best Customer Service Award.
Alongside the awards, every student who took part received a Young Enterprise completion certificate in recognition of the professional and personal skills developed during the experience, including marketing, budgeting, sales, public speaking and project management.
Catherine Vincent, Curriculum Area Manager for Professional & Creative, said: “Taking part in Young Enterprise has been an incredible opportunity for our students to apply their learning in a real business environment. They have shown outstanding creativity, professionalism and resilience throughout the competition, and we are extremely proud to see their hard work recognised at a regional level. Experiences like this help students build confidence, develop employability skills and prepare for their future careers.”
The success reflects Bradford College’s continued commitment to providing students with industry-focused opportunities that develop confidence, ambition and work-ready skills beyond the classroom.
