Be part of Bradford’s generation of entrepreneurs

Have you ever dreamt of being your own boss?

Bradford College is supporting young people to be part of the city’s latest generation of brilliant entrepreneurs with new courses offering the skills to start their own unique business.

The college is launching the Level 3 Extended Certificate in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship and the Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship.

The courses educate students in practical and theoretical ways of setting up and starting new businesses and expanding small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

A city of innovation and enterprise

Jackie Sharp, Curriculum Area Manager for Business, said: “It’s a really exciting time for Bradford. It’s the second most entrepreneurial city in the UK and last year was shown to be the most improved place to live and work. We’re fostering the next generation to continue the upward trend in our city.

“Both courses are designed as one-year full time courses that will support progression to either another year of study at L3 or employment. We’ll hopefully have students who will go on to be self-employed. They will also be able to advise their peers about how to set up a business and what they need to do to become successful.”

Enterprise zone

To support would-be entrepreneurs, the college is setting up an enterprise zone within its campus where students will be encouraged to generate ideas and develop plans.

On the courses, students will learn about developing a marketing campaign, personal and business finance as well as launching and running an enterprise.

Bradford College has for decades supported people across the city to set up their own businesses and contributed to its unique entrepreneurial spirit.
