Rebuilding the future with the Lifetime Skills Guarantee

Bradford College is transforming lives and helping get the city back on its feet by offering free courses for adults to gain in-demand skills and change the course of their future.

Adults can gain new skills and boost their job prospects. Furthermore, they can even change their career by studying one of a selection of free courses backed by the government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee Scheme.

The courses include accounting, IT, construction, engineering and health and social care.

What is the Lifetime Skills Guarantee?

The scheme, which is part of the wider £2.5 billion National Skills Fund, is designed to help our country build back better after the pandemic. The qualifications in the scheme have therefore been carefully chosen to help adults improve their career prospects and meet the needs of the economy.

Do you qualify for the Scheme?

The guarantee allows us to offer a range of courses to any adult meeting the criteria below.

Are you:

  • An adult of any age (but over 19)?
  • Without Level 3 qualifications (equivalent to A Levels)?
  • Living in Bradford?
  • Looking for a career change or retraining?
  • Looking to learn practical skills?

We will support you

Vice Principal Asa Gordon said: “The past year has been an incredibly challenging time for everyone. But now Bradford College wants to help Bradford build back its workforce and use the government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee as an opportunity to transform lives across the district.

“Whether you are looking to get back into work, improve your CV or use the courses as a springboard for a whole new career, we will support you to make the most of the opportunities on offer.

“So as well as making an impact on the lives of adults learners, we will help support employers to come back after the pandemic stronger than ever, with a skilled and qualified workforce ready for whatever the future holds.”
