  Overview

The Level 2 Award and Diploma qualifications in Creative Media Production and Technology will provide you with an introduction to a broad range of creative and technical skills in media production enabling you to acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to Further Education and employment within the industry in a range of media-related subjects such as TV, Film, sound engineering and others.

You will develop a wide range of skills associated with film, TV, radio and digital online content; actively engaging in practical sessions on cinematography (camera and lighting techniques), sound production and post-production editing in sound and video. Practical sessions are complemented with sessions which explore employment opportunities related to the creative industries.

Throughout the year you will develop an online portfolio of evidence which will demonstrate your continual improvement in all practical aspects of the course. This might include evidence of film challenges, sound recording experiments and video editing tasks. Using the skills you have developed you will choose a media product you wish to research and create before publishing your finished production online, this could include: a short film, documentary, podcast or TV show.

4 GCSEs including Maths Grade 2 and English Grade 3

Successful completion of our Level 2 course can lead to further study as well as employment in the creative media or games development industries.

If you are 19 years old or over you may need to pay fees for your Further Education studies.

Course fees depend on your age and course level.

You may be exempt from paying fees though, or eligible to pay a reduced fee – known as fee remission.

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 and studying on a full-time or part-time Further Education course, you will not pay tuition or examination fees.

This covers all Further Education courses, functional skills for English and Maths courses.

You will need to pay for course costs such as books, stationery, special equipment, exams, registration fee, travel, meals and any other course-related activities.

Help towards these costs is available for many students.
