This course will give you an introduction to the knowledge and skills needed to work, whilst supervised, with children and young people from birth up to 19-years old. During your course you will have enrichment that gives you experience of work.

This course will give you introductory knowledge towards skills and qualities needed to work with children and young people.
This qualification is made up of:
- Respecting & valuing children
- Young children’s development
- Accident prevention & fire
- safety when babysitting
- Importance of play for early learning
- Safeguarding the welfare of children & young people
Entry to this course requires GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 2 or 3 or above.
Your knowledge will be assessed by your tutor in college through course work assignments.
There is no mandatory placement however you will do 30-hours of experience of work within your course.
This course can lead to progression to study on the full Level 2 childcare diploma or Foundation T Level.
