What You Will Learn
Studying on our GCSE Social Science Pathway will develop and build your knowledge in Psychology, Sociology and Citizenship Studies. You will develop the essential knowledge and skills needed to progress to a career in your chosen industry. We will provide you with the best opportunity to learn the topics, develop your critical thinking and have access to support from tutors and technicians.
Entry Requirements
Entry to this course requires a grade 3 in English Language and Mathematics.
Assessment
The GCSEs on this pathway include assessment at the end of the course by completing two 1 hour and 45-minute exams. The exam papers contain a variety of questions including multiple choice, structured, closed short answer and open response.
Progression
Studying a GCSE qualification with us will enable you to progress onto further study by joining one of our A Level pathways as well as other level 3 qualification and apprenticeships. Your teachers will support you in ensuring you reach your goals and make the progress required to take your next steps in learning or employment. You will benefit from having a weekly tutorial with your pastoral tutor who will provide the additional support to enable you to be successful.

Fees & Additional Costs
If you are 19 years old or over you may need to pay fees for your Further Education studies.
Course fees depend on your age and course level.
You may be exempt from paying fees though, or eligible to pay a reduced fee – known as fee remission.
If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 and studying on a full-time or part-time Further Education course, you will not pay tuition or examination fees.
This covers all Further Education courses, functional skills for English and Maths courses.
You will need to pay for course costs such as books, stationery, special equipment, exams, registration fee, travel, meals and any other course-related activities.
Help towards these costs is available for many students.
