  Overview

The Level 3 T Level Qualification in Healthcare Science will provide students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment related to a Healthcare Science environment, an apprenticeship or related technical study through further or higher education.

Including modules in core science concepts, understanding the healthcare sector and clinical practice, this T Level also provides the opportunity to complete 350 hours of relevant work experience which can give you a careers edge and fast track you into the area of work that you are interested in. You will develop a rounded knowledge and relevant set of skills that are favoured amongst employers in this sector.

Occupational Specialism:

Assisting with Healthcare Science:

  • Contribute to patient care by supporting physiological, physical and clinical engineering services to produce reliable data and images for use by healthcare professionals in diagnosis and treatment
  • Contribute to patient care by supporting the collection of a range of specimens for analysis to aid diagnosis and treatment
  • Contribute to patient care by processing and analysing service user specimens in a range of life science areas and laboratory environments to produce reliable data sets for use by healthcare professionals in diagnosis and treatment

Entry to this course requires 5 GCSEs, which must include Maths and English and at least 2 Science subjects which can include Double Science (55) or Triple Science (555).

Assessment includes examination and the completion of a project.

Our Healthcare Science T Level includes an industry placement with an employer focused on developing the practical and technical skills required for the occupation. This a 9 week industry placement in the Health sector.

Successful completion of this course includes progression into employment, further study, advanced apprenticeship and University.

If you are 16 to 18 years old you won’t have to pay tuition fees. If you’re 19 or older you may need to pay a fee.
