This course will provide the foundation required to get you set for an exciting career in the science industry. This course is perfect if you have a passion for problem solving and investigation and a good eye for detail.

You’ll learn both the principles and applications of all three sciences. You will also be able to develop your skills in Maths and English.

Entry to this course requires 3 GCSEs at a grade A-D or 9-3 including GCSE Maths and English Language.

Assessment includes assignments, presentations, observation of practical work and practical lab written reports.

There are opportunities for work placement on this course.

Successful completion of this course can lead to further study or employment.

The skills and knowledge you gain on the course will enable you to progress on to advanced qualifications such as the BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Applied Science.

If you are 19 years old or over you may need to pay fees for your Further Education studies.

Course fees depend on your age and course level.

You may be exempt from paying fees though, or eligible to pay a reduced fee – known as fee remission.

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 and studying on a full-time or part-time Further Education course, you will not pay tuition or examination fees.

This covers all Further Education courses, functional skills for English and Maths courses.

You will need to pay for course costs such as books, stationery, special equipment, exams, registration fee, travel, meals and any other course-related activities.

Help towards these costs is available for many students.
