Discover new opportunities at Apprenticeships Open Event

Ever considered studying for an apprenticeship?  Bradford College is offering the chance to find out more about the world of opportunities on offer.

Held during National Apprenticeship Week, the Apprenticeships Open Event at Bradford College gives people the chance to speak to the college’s apprenticeships teams. There, they can discuss the apprenticeship qualifications that Bradford College delivers and the opportunities available.

Open event

The event takes place at the college’s Little Germany Campus on 39-41, Chapel Street, Bradford on Tuesday 8 February, 2pm – 7pm. There is no appointment necessary.

Apprenticeships offer people the chance to achieve their chosen qualification while gaining invaluable work experience and earning a wage.

Sahir’s success

Sahir Khalid studied for a Dental Nursing apprenticeship at Bradford College. He became a key part of the team at Town Hall Dental, Brighouse, with the aim of becoming a dental hygienist. He said: “I chose my apprenticeship because I have always wanted a career that would allow me to help people with their health and confidence. I find it very rewarding to not only ease people’s pain, but to give them a sense of happiness within themselves.”

Such was Sahir’s success that he achieved recognition for his success at Bradford College’s FE Student and Apprenticeship Awards last year.

An apprentice with a lot to offer

William Leung also received recognition, achieving Apprentice of the Year for Engineering at the same awards ceremony. After finishing his A-levels, William decided an engineering apprenticeship would be the route to follow. After beginning at Halifax-based Fan Systems as an apprentice mechanical engineer, he quickly impressed managers who realised he had more to offer. William was given a role of design engineer. He explained: “My apprenticeship allows me to gain qualifications in mechanical engineering whilst gaining invaluable experience working alongside professionals in the industry. “

Find your Apprenticeship opportunity

Apprenticeships at Bradford College offer apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 6. Sectors include Construction and Trade, Engineering and Motor Vehicle, Professional Services and Health and Care.

Bradford College has 30 years’ experience of delivering apprenticeships. It works closely with employers in Bradford and the Leeds City Region. The college has access to high quality training facilities and works with around 700 employers. They also have highly qualified industry specialist staff.

Apprentices mostly learn through ‘on-the-job’ training. They work within their chosen trade, getting hands-on training from their employer and giving skills to last a lifetime. Then there’s usually one day a week ‘off-the-job’ training in College.
