If you’re taking the next step with your studies at Bradford College, an Advanced Learner Loan could provide the financial support you need.
The Advanced Learner Loan is for people aged 19 and over who want to complete a Level 3 course. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of your course. The loan can cover all or part of your tuition fees.
Will you need a loan?
You will need to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan or pay your fees independently:
- If you are aged 19 or above and you already have a full Level 3 qualification.
- If you are 24+ and studying a Level 3 qualification (please note there will be no fee remission even if you’re on benefits)
An Advanced Learner Loan provided Steven Belfield with financial support for his Access to Higher Education course in Computing. Steven advised: “Make sure you find out what you’re entitled to and apply.”
Check you are eligible
Please check here to see if you’re eligible before you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan. Loan eligibility does not depend on your income and there are no credit checks. You don’t need to start to repay the loan until you earn more than £26,575 per year.
If you’re not a UK citizen and if you have not been in the country for three years, please make sure you check your eligibility.
If you are aged 19 to 23 at the start of your course, and you are studying for your first Level 3 qualification, your course will be fully funded, so you will not need to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan.
How to apply
You can apply for the Advanced Learner Loan online at: www.gov.uk/advanced-learner-loan where you can complete the online application, or download and post an application. Please ensure you apply for the Further Education Advanced Learning Loan. You will need your Learning and Funding Information letter from Bradford College to apply.
