Bradford College Named ‘Employer of the Year’
Bradford College has been named ‘Employer of the Year’ at the 2026 Telegraph & Argus Bradford BUSINESSiQ Awards.
The annual awards celebrate the success, achievement, and innovation of people and companies throughout the district. Each nominee is recognised for putting the region on the map, boosting the economy, and making a positive contribution to the local community.
After being shortlisted alongside two other organisations, Bradford College was announced as the overall winner in the Employer of the Year category. The award is given to the region’s top employer for strong investment in employees, reward schemes, and key benefits.
Held for the very first time at Bradford Live on Thursday, 9 July, the awards ceremony was the biggest and most spectacular to date, with stand-up comedian and author Jo Caulfield acting as the celebrity host.
Speaking about being named one of the best workplaces in the area, Head of HR Services at Bradford College, Chris Parker, said:
“It was an honour and a privilege to accept the award on behalf of the College. While awards are never the reason we do what we do, it is wonderful to be recognised for the culture we have worked so hard to create.
“This isn’t an award just for one department or one person – it reflects the commitment, passion and collaboration of every colleague across Bradford College. Together, we have created a workplace where inclusion and belonging are not just values on paper, but something people experience every day.”
Bradford College also sponsored the Apprentice of the Year category, which went to Aisha Ayub of Skipton Building Services. A spokesperson at the College said:
“Apprentices represent the future of our workforce, bringing fresh perspectives, enthusiasm and a real commitment to developing their skills while contributing meaningfully to their organisations. Recognising their achievements is vital.
“Awards like this shine a spotlight not only on individual excellence, but on the power of apprenticeships to transform lives, support businesses and strengthen our local economy.”
Steve Lowe, sales director at the Telegraph & Argus, added:
“As someone who works closely with businesses across the district, I see first‑hand the ambition, innovation and commitment that exist right across Bradford.
“The Bradford BUSINESSiQ Awards aren’t just about winning on the night – they’re about telling your story, building credibility, and positioning your business among the very best in the region.”
