At a glittering ceremony at the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford, BDCU won the ‘SME Employer of the Year’ award. Employee Ariba Matloob also won ‘Advanced Apprentice of the Year.’
Bradford College apprentice Ariba recently joined the BDCU member services team. BDCU recognised her enthusiasm and commitment to high-quality work. Ariba actively learned processes and contributed to the team’s overall goals.
BDCU also won the SME employer award owing to its strong commitment to apprenticeships. As a valued Bradford College partner, BDCU employs apprentices across all its departments. Apprentices now make up around 40% of its workforce.

The annual West Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards showcase the outstanding work of apprentices, training providers, and businesses that champion apprenticeship programmes. This year, radio DJ and host Rich Williams announced 14 awards. The awards honoured the exceptional apprenticeship network flourishing across the region.
