Lee’s Journey
combining passion for performing arts with love of teaching
Although Lee’s professional life first took him into acting, the idea of teaching had always stayed with him.
“I first experienced the profession during a school work placement years ago,” he explains. “My acting career took priority for a long time, but eventually the timing was perfect to pursue teaching properly.”
To make that move, Lee returned to a familiar place, Bradford College, where he had completed a BTEC in Performing Arts 25 years earlier. “Coming back felt like returning to a place that had already supported my ambitions once before,” he says.
Studying at Bradford College gave me the skills, confidence and direction I needed to move into teaching. The staff were supportive, knowledgeable and genuinely committed to helping me grow. Returning to a place that had encouraged my ambitions years ago felt right, and it proved to be the ideal environment to take the next step in my career.

Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

This course is suitable for aspiring teachers from any background who are attracted to the English language teaching profession. In the UK, the Trinity Cert TESOL is recognised as initial qualification for teaching ESOL in the Further Education (FE) sector and as a professional qualification for qualified teachers seeking to retrain and teach ESOL.
