Arriving at College
When you arrive at college, we have staff who will help you to get to the right place in our buildings for you to start your course.
We have classes starting between 1 and 20 September:
14-16, 16-18 Students from 1 September
Higher Education Students from 13 September
Adult Students from 20 September
Some courses may start earlier. Your tutor should be in contact with you to discuss start dates.
We pride ourselves on our COVID safety procedures and practices that have supported and kept our students safe throughout the pandemic and we continue to put our students and staff at the heart of that safety. On starting or returning to college we will be following 4 simple rules:
- MASK – We are respecting your choice to wear/ not wear a face covering
- SPACE – We are encouraging you to keep practicing social distancing measures, ventilate rooms and get fresh air when on your breaks
- SANITISE – continue to wash hands and sanitise both hands and learning spaces
- TEST – We are asking our staff and student to test themselves twice a week
We have supplied testing kits as part of our enrolment service. But don’t worry if you haven’t got any tests; we have a testing service on all our sites for the first two weeks of term from 6 – 17 September.
We ask you to test yourself up to 3 days before starting at college, and then again within 3-5 days. After that we ask that you test yourself regularly (every 3-5 days apart) and record your test. The bar codes for registering your test results are displayed around the college campus.
Grab A Jab
NHS services are offering COVID-19 vaccinations to students arriving for the start of term.
New and current students who have not yet had their vaccinations will be able to grab a jab at one of the pop-up clinics at the college from 9am – 5pm from Wednesday 1 to Friday 3 September 2021. Students aged between16 and 17 and three quarters will only need to have one vaccination. Any student at the college who is aged 18 and over can have their first vaccination at the college but if they wish to have their second must have allowed eight weeks between each dose.
