Full Speed Ahead for Bradford College Greenpower Challenge
8 monthsIn collaboration with the Greenpower Education Trust, Bradford College has now officially launched West Yorkshire’s first Formula 24 Challenge.
Bradford College is bringing global STEM education charity Greenpower to Bradford in 2024. We want to inspire young people across the city district to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths through a unique challenge: to design, build and race an electric car.
There will be a Bradford Grand Prix in Bradford in summer 2024 for the Formula 24 cars.
We are inviting secondary schools to take part in this fully funded STEM programme, which will run throughout the academic year 2023-24:
Greenpower Education Trust is a UK based charity with an outstanding track record in kick starting careers in engineering. We help unlock potential and spark enthusiasm for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) through the excitement of motorsport.
Teams of students aged 9 to 25 from across the globe compete at Greenpower events in the UK and other countries including USA, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and China. The annual International Final takes place at venues such as the UK’s Silverstone National Circuit and Goodwood Motor Circuit.
We are also interested in talking to employers in local engineering and motor vehicle industries who may be interested in supporting the event, either partnering with a local secondary school on the design and build of the racing car, or through supporting the Grand Prix event itself, sponsorship opportunities will also be available with our media partner The Telegraph & Argus.
