  Key Info

You will study all areas of the secondary curriculum for this subject and link practice to theory, completing academic modules at Level 7. Bradford College sessions are relevant, often practically based, and address the subject knowledge, teaching techniques (pedagogy) and professionalism needed to support children and young people in their learning. The course is designed to make strong links between theory and practice in school, meeting the minimum entitlement outlined in the ITT: Core Content Framework within an ambitious curriculum designed by Leeds Trinity University. You will be supported by tutors and mentors in college and in school to prepare you for your career in teaching. This is your chance to share your passion for Biology and inspire the next generation. We will also develop your confidence in teaching all three sciences, including Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level. Our PGCE Science courses will give you the opportunity to deliver hands-on practical activities and in-depth explorations of the curriculum to best support your own teaching. School-based training School experience is a vital part of your teacher training programme. A key strength of the PGCE course is how theory and practice are related by working with children in placement schools -with support provided by experienced mentors.
