The T Level in Legal Services is an exciting new qualification designed for students interested in law, justice, and the business of legal practice. Developed in partnership with industry professionals, this two-year course combines classroom learning with substantial hands-on experience through an extended industry placement.
Students will explore how law operates in society, gain an understanding of business and finance contexts, and develop essential professional skills in research, communication, and client care. The course prepares learners for a range of careers in legal, business, and public sector roles — from legal assistant and paralegal positions to higher-level apprenticeships or further study.
Equivalent to three A Levels, this T Level offers a direct pathway into higher education or employment in the growing legal and professional services sector

Core Knowledge: The Legal Environment
You’ll gain a solid foundation in how the legal system operates, including the structure of courts, legal institutions, and regulatory bodies. This unit also covers professional ethics, confidentiality, and the role of technology in modern legal practice.
Business and Financial Contexts
Understand how law interacts with the business world. You’ll study contract law, employment law, and the fundamentals of business and financial documentation used within corporate legal departments and law firms.
Legal Services Specialism
You’ll focus on one occupational specialism — such as Legal Services Assistant (Business, Finance and Employment) — learning how to prepare legal documents, carry out research, draft correspondence, and assist with case management under supervision.
Employer-Set Project and Industry Placement
Undertake a substantial project set by a legal employer and complete a minimum 45-day placement in a law firm, legal department, or public sector organisation. You’ll apply your knowledge to real-world scenarios, gaining valuable insight into professional practice.
5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths
