This course is perfect for anyone passionate about acting, singing, dancing, or working behind the scenes. You’ll gain a strong foundation in performance and production skills while building confidence and creativity.
As part of Bradford College’s Producing Academy, you’ll collaborate with other creatives, work on exciting projects, and experience what it takes to bring a show to life.
Explore the essentials of performance through practical workshops in drama, dance, and music. Learn how to rehearse effectively, develop stage presence, and understand the process of creating a production from start to finish. Research the history and context of performing arts to inspire your work, and take on a final major project where you’ll plan, produce, and perform a staged piece for a live audience.
Every project helps you grow as a performer and prepares you for progression into higher-level study.

Assessment is practical and project-based, focusing on real-world performance and production tasks. You’ll complete a series of creative projects, receive ongoing feedback, and showcase your skills in a final major performance project. This final piece is externally moderated by University of the Arts London (UAL), giving your work industry-level recognition.
Work experience is built into the course, giving you the chance to gain hands-on experience in professional settings. You’ll work on live projects, collaborate with industry professionals, and develop essential skills such as time management and teamwork. Our strong links include The Royal Shakespeare Company, Dance United, and Bradford Council—providing opportunities to see how the performing arts industry operates behind the scenes.
On completion, you can progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts or explore other creative qualifications. This course is your first step towards a career in theatre, TV, or film.
