Our portfolio-only course (NVQ) is designed for experienced plumbers currently working in the industry fitting bathrooms, radiators and pipework to heating systems. It is a top up course that requires you to have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing.
This course is completed in the workplace, you must be able to demonstrate your plumbing competency by completing a portfolio of evidence of the work you are carrying out.

You’ll learn and develop the essential knowledge and hands‑on skills needed to work safely and effectively in the plumbing and heating industry. This includes understanding how to apply environmental protection measures within building services engineering, learning safe working practices for real on‑site environments, and gaining practical experience installing, maintaining, and testing domestic plumbing and heating systems.

Applicants must have successfully completed a Level 2 Plumbing qualification and be employed within the plumbing industry.
You will demonstrate your competence through direct observation and the collection of work‑based evidence, showing that you can apply industry‑standard skills in real working environments. Evidence can include, but not limited to, reports, photographs, job records, drawings and technical information, witness tesitomony and work products. Assessment takes place on site by a qualified assessor at your place of work.
You’ll also complete an online multiple‑choice exam to confirm your understanding of how to apply environmental protection measures within building services engineering.
Successful completion of this course can lead to further opportunities in employment or an apprenticeship.
