Skills you’ll develop: 

  • Understanding Engineering Basics – Learn the key ideas and principles that are used in all areas of engineering.
  • Using Tools and Equipment Safely – Gain hands-on experience with real tools and machines used in the engineering industry.
  • Following Health and Safety Rules – Learn how to keep yourself and others safe while working in an engineering environment.
  • Solving Problems – Build your confidence in finding solutions to common engineering challenges.

  • Welding 
  • Fabricating 

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a must have for this course.

You will need: 

  • Safety boots and fire-retardant overalls. These will be provided should you meet the conditions of the bursary*.

Entry requirements to this course are a Grade 2 in both GCSE Maths and English Language.

For this qualification, you will be required to complete: 
  • One online multiple-choice assessment for the mandatory unit  
  • One assignment for each chosen optional unit which contains practical and knowledge tasks. 

Successful completion of this course guarantees you a place on our Level 2 Engineering course.

You may also be successful in getting an apprenticeship or entry level job in manufacturing, machining, and fabrication.
