  Overview

Our City and Guilds Level 2 course gives you the skills needed to secure a job in plumbing and the Construction and Engineering industry. Much like electrical, you can chose to work for yourself, fitting central heating, repairing boilers and putting new bathrooms in – or you can take advantage of our partnerships with utilities companies and go to the industrial side of things and specialise in fitting pipework. With a big focus on energy efficiency and the environment, there’s never been a better time to train as a modern plumber.

  Key Info

We will show you how to install the modern alternatives – such as solar thermal and ground/air source heat pumps so that your skills are cutting edge and future proofed. The industry is changing so quickly – and new technology is coming out all of the time – so we work with employers across Bradford to make sure what we are teaching you is fully up to date and has real value to companies when you go to work for them.

Please note that you will be required to wear safety boots with steel toe caps and hi-vis vest when working in the College workshops.

Our state of the art workshops are set up to simulate all the different scenarios you might encounter in real life. Through practical assessment, you will be able to showcase the skills and techniques that you have developed through the course.

Your course may include work experience or a work placement that could lead to the offer of a part-time or casual work, or you might work outside of your studies. Our students benefit from local site visits and trips to construction companies, such as our award-winning local partner Priestley Construction.

We offer provision in Levels 1 and 2, meaning that you are able to progress through to the next course with successful completion of your course. Dependent upon experience, a plumber has the potential to earn anywhere between £12K and £40K per year, so the time to train in plumbing has never been better.

If you are 16 to 18 years old you won’t have to pay tuition fees. If you are aged 19+ and studying a Further Education Course at Bradford College, you may have to pay course fees. Course fees are dependent on the number of hours and which course is being taken.

This is representative of the most common fees scenario, but actual fees can vary depending on a number of factors. Please contact us if you need more guidance.
