Other Funded Projects

We have exciting plans ahead across a host of curriculum areas after securing funding for other innovative projects.

Some investments will enhance or buy equipment that supports our creative teaching of future facing careers; other funding will boost training and development to keep staff up to date with evolving industry demands. Recent successful bids include:

The Local Skills Improvement Fund

This is a £944,478 investment for digital innovation projects across construction, health and social care, engineering and advanced manufacturing, and education/teaching and learning.

The project works through the West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges to build capacity that meets local skills priorities identified in the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).

Higher Technical Education Skills Injection Fund

The £434,915 funding will grow Level 4 and 5 provision, including Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs). This project will include new capital equipment, staff CPD, and programme promotions.

The funding is part of the government’s commitment to grow high-quality Level 4 and 5 provision. The investment is designed to raise productivity and unlock the potential to meet skills shortages and employer demand.

Phase 3 Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme

Bradford College has been successful in achieving a £2.6m Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme grant, run by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and delivered by Salix. The grant provides support for public sector bodies to fund heat decarbonisation and energy efficiency measures.

This project covers the reduction of flow and return temperatures within our David Hockney and ATC buildings. Supplemented by a College contribution of £364k (taking the project to over £3m), the works will include heat network connection, emitter upgrades, insulation of pipework, and substation upgrades(planned completion: March 2026).
