to take your first steps into engineering, our Level 1 Manufacturing course is
an ideal place to start. Designed for adult learners, this practical and enjoyable
course introduces you to the fundamentals of manufacturing in a supportive,
hands-on workshop environment.
You will explore the basics of manufacturing skills such as measuring, marking out, using hand tools, conventional machines (Milling and Turning) and working safely in an engineering workshop. The course shows how engineering ideas are turned into real products, helping you understand how components are manufactured, assembled and checked for quality
This course is perfect if you are new to manufacturing, returning to education, or looking to change career direction.
Tutors support you every step of the way, helping you build both technical skills and workplace confidence.
Learning is practical and confidence‑building, with plenty of time in the workshop to develop your skills. You will also be introduced to simple engineering concepts, including materials, tolerances and quality control, giving you a strong foundation for future learning and employment.
There are no age restrictions, and only basic literacy and numeracy skills are recommended.
