Translate One Inspires Future Interpreters at Bradford College
Level 3 Interpreting in the Community students at Bradford College recently gained valuable industry insights during a special guest session with Liz Weatherill, Managing Director of Translate One – Bradford’s largest interpreting agency.
The session was part of the wider curriculum designed to prepare students for employment in the interpreting sector. Liz Weatherill shared her expertise on the nature of interpreting work, the recruitment process at Translate One, and the types of assignments interpreters may encounter in the field.
Students were given practical guidance on how to prepare for interpreting assignments and had the opportunity to take part in a live Q&A session. The session highlighted a strong interest in the profession and the opportunities available through Translate One.
“It was extremely useful and informative,” said Monika Romaniuk, Community Interpreting Lecturer. “They engaged actively during the Q&A, showing great interest in the information shared about the interpreting field.”
The session helped strengthen professional links between Bradford College and Translate One, as well as reflects the College’s commitment to providing real-world learning experience and preparing students for enriching careers in community focused sectors.
