Overview

This specialist GCSE pathway has been designed to give you the skills you need to build a career in Science and social Science. Our labs and classrooms are fantastic facilities to learn and develop your talent. Career paths include working in Medicine, Veterinary Science, Pharmacy, Ophthalmics, Engineering, and Dentistry.

Following this pathway, you will study 6 GCSE subjects to gain 7 GCSE grades.

The Subjects are:

  • GCSE Trilogy Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
  • GCSE Psychology
  • GCSE Sociology
  • GCSE Citizenship
  • GCSE Mathematics
  • GCSE English

Bradford College has many partnerships with employers and we hold regular career events to help students choose their next steps. We often have external speakers and events for students to attend.

Students at Bradford College experience a range of additional support from our Student Services and Student Union providing advice and guidance for students and parents.

Bradford College offers a wide range of higher level study in many different subjects related to each pathway, there are guaranteed places available for students that achieve the entry requirement grades.

Key Info

Studying on our GCSE Science Pathway will develop and build your knowledge in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. You will develop essential knowledge in Science including methodology and practical skills that can be applied to the world around you. You will also develop your knowledge and understanding of Social Sciences through the study of Psychology, citizenship and Sociology. We will provide you with the best opportunity to learn the topics, develop your critical thinking and have access to support from tutors and technicians.

You do not need any qualifications to start this course.

ESOL Level 1.

You will also be required to take part in a number of required practical that form part of your final examinations. This GCSE is assessed at the end of the course by completing two 1 hour and 45-minute exams. The exam papers contain a variety of questions including multiple choice, structured, closed short answer and open response.

Studying a GCSE qualification with us will enable you to progress onto further study, other level 3 qualifications and apprenticeships. Your teachers will support you in ensuring you reach your goals and make the progress required to take your next steps in learning or employment. You will benefit from having a weekly tutorial with your pastoral tutor who will provide the additional support to enable you to be successful.
