  Overview

This course has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in schools or college environments.

  Key Info

It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people’s development supporting positive behaviour, communication and professional relationships. As learners need to show competence in both skills and knowledge they will need to be working or be on a practical placement throughout the qualification. It is recommended that they do 100 hours in a real work environment. It is advised that you are at or working towards Level 2 Maths and English and an ICT qualification.

Successful completion of this course can lead to progression to further study and employment in Education and Teaching.

If you are 19 years old or over you may need to pay fees for your Further Education studies.

Course fees depend on your age and course level.

You may be exempt from paying fees though, or eligible to pay a reduced fee – known as fee remission.

This is representative of the most common fees scenario, but actual fees can vary depending on a number of factors. Please contact us if you need more guidance.
