  Overview

This T Level has been developed in collaboration with engineering employers and businesses so that it meets the needs of industry.

It will develop your knowledge, skills and professional behaviours across a wide range of engineering and manufacturing occupations and industries.

You will study on-site in our quality workshops and classrooms with support from expert tutors as well as support from our industry partners.

This course will teach you the basics of the Engineering and Manufacturing sectors, including how materials and other factors can influences design processes and products.

As well as this, you will develop essential mathematics used for engineering and manufacturing.

You will understand the commercial, financial and business side to engineering and manufacturing. This includes understanding both customers and clients as well as partners.

  • Engineering and design practices
  • Maintenance, installation and repair practices
  • Engineering drawings and graphical language
  • Materials and their properties
  • Mathematics for engineering and manufacturing
  • Science for engineering and manufacturing
  • Commercial awareness

5 GCSEs Grade 5 or above including Maths and English.

The 45 day industry placement allows you to develop your occupational specialism skills as well as those necessary to working in any environment, such as effective planning, working with others, health and safety and promoting equality and diversity.

Successful completion of this course can lead to employment, apprenticeships or higher education. Careers include:

  • CAD technician
  • 3D printing technician

If you are 19 years old or over you may need to pay fees for your Further Education studies.

Course fees depend on your age and course level.

You may be exempt from paying fees though, or eligible to pay a reduced fee – known as fee remission.

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 and studying on a full-time or part-time Further Education course, you will not pay tuition or examination fees.

This covers all Further Education courses, functional skills for English and Maths courses.

You will need to pay for course costs such as books, stationery, special equipment, exams, registration fee, travel, meals and any other course-related activities.

Help towards these costs is available for many students.
