Ann Kendal is a manager at Bradford Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGB&T) Strategic Partnership, which promotes equality for LGB&T people in the Bradford district.
She has worked for Calderdale Council in the area of youth offending, as manager and then acting head of the Youth Offending Team. She has also worked for The Children’s Society, joining in 2003 as a SureStart local programme manager. Between 2010 and 2013 she was assistant director, line managing children’s centres across England and children and young people’s projects across the North of England.
Much of my working life has been committed to furthering the wellbeing of children and young people, an issue close to my heart.
With experience in diverse areas including teaching, adult education, supported housing and youth justice, she offers expertise in the leadership and governance of multi-agency initiatives and an understanding of regulatory frameworks.
I have a strong commitment to and understanding of equalities, with the belief that the greatest impact is achieved when communities are empowered to affect change and co-produce services. I have good business acumen, having developed self-sustaining services within disadvantaged and excluded communities.
