Bradford College Green Skills Centre Opens

The Bradford College ‘Green Skills Centre’ has recently opened at Trinity Green Campus.

Designed and installed by The Quantum Group, the new Centre positions Bradford College at the forefront of sustainable technology education and professional training. The facility consists of three state-of-the-art solar power training bays, giving students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills required to install solar panels, fault finding panels, underground heating pumps, and electric vehicle charging points.

This area of training is pivotal to equipping learners with critical skills that are increasingly vital in an evolving green economy.

Head of Construction, Greg Bourke, said: “We are proud to see this project come to fruition, and to announce the opening of the Green Skills Centre at Trinity Green.

“This is another milestone in our development of training in the low carbon technologies sector and puts Bradford College as a key provider for renewable technologies, with a centre at the forefront of technology for training and career progression in the green and renewables sector.”

Funded by the UK Government, delivery of the Centre has come from utilisation of Local Skills Improvement Funding (LSIF).

This form of funding enables Further Education providers to respond to skill priorities set out in the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) for their area.

By focusing on emerging electrical installation specialties, this new facility will ensure students become forward-thinking electricians ready to play a pivotal role in the region’s transition to sustainable energy infrastructure.

Bradford College students will benefit from hands-on training that directly responds to growing employer demands in green technologies, while Bradford businesses will gain access to a skilled workforce capable of implementing and maintaining advanced renewable energy systems. This initiative not only enhances individual career prospects, but also supports the broader goal of developing a locally-trained, environmentally conscious workforce ready to meet the challenges of decarbonisation and green technological innovation.
