WOW Festival Bus Tour in Bradford

Women of the World (WOW) Festival Bus comes to Bradford. 

As part of International Women’s Day, we are delighted to have partnered with Bradford City Council, and will be hosting the WOW Festival Bus, as part of its tour of Bradford from Saturday 2^nd March to Wednesday 6th March.

WOW – Women of the World is a global movement celebrating women and girls and takes a frank look at the obstacles they face, with our festivals all over the world from Pakistan, Rio, Australia, Rotherham and more. WOW’s first Girls Festival will travel across the UK visiting schools, community groups and young people.

Our Bronte Lecture Theatre is booked out for a speed mentoring event which takes place from 11-12pm, with a collection of 50 local businesswomen and professionals, to meet Bradford College students.

The event will be a unique one-to-one experience and an amazing opportunity to meet amazing women, girls and non-binary young people of all different backgrounds and ages.  Students can be inspired, uplifted and supported. Mentors are invited to talk about their experiences and choices and how they got to where they are today.

How to get involved

Mentors

If you are College Staff and are interested in being a mentor, please contact [email protected]. Mentors are expected to have a 15 minute seated conversation with mentees, and then after 15 minutes, they will swap to a new mentee, having a total of three conversations during the event. Each mentee will be asked to bring questions that they would like to discuss with the mentors which will be used as a starting point.

Students

The WOW Bus will deliver a range of workshops, activities and events and will be based at the Richmond Building at Bradford University Campus, just a short walk from the College in the afternoon. Bradford College students who are interested in taking part should contact [email protected]

Schedule of the day

10:30am – Arrival and morning briefing at the Main Reception Entrance at Bradford College, David Hockney Building, Great Horton Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD7 1AY.

11am – 12pm – Speed Mentoring at Bradford College

12pm – 1pm – Lunch and networking at Bradford College
