  Overview

This course is ideal for people looking to move into engineering or architectural design and build the foundation for developing their skills as a digital construction professional or digital engineer. This course is an excellent starting point for people who are new to CAD, helping to develop your 2D design skills as well as gaining excellent hands-on skills as well as IT knowledge.

(2.5 hours – one night per week).

You will learn about CAD Modelling environment, in terms of hardware, software and physical surroundings. Explore 2D Computer Aided Design as you develop the knowledge and skills to create sketches, work features, table driven parts and assemblies, understanding constraints and being able to create a drawing layout.

There are no formal entrance requirements, but it is critical in putting the right person on the right course – and ensuring that you being on the right path to achieve your career goals that you have a conversation with Mark Spiers – our warm and welcoming professional teacher. Assessment includes the production of CAD work (projects) and short answer papers. You will be fully prepared to take part in all assessment opportunities.

Dependent on your other professional qualifications – you may be interested in Higher Education at Bradford College – either in Professional Construction/Architecture or Professional Engineering Design. Potential careers from this qualification can include: Architecture, BIM Architect, Engineer and Professional Construction.

This course is a Skills Guarantee course and therefore free for adults depending on salary and prior academic attainment.
