Course overview

PT evenings for adults only 19+

Students will need to commit to two 3HR twilight/evenings per week and be prepared to complete further independent study.

The VTCT hairdressing L2 diploma in Hairdressing is a substantial qualification for students seeking a career as a hairstylist. You will be expected to purchase a kit and source clients for assessment.

The course covers a broad range of hairdressing skills and knowledge. It is taught by highly qualified and enthusiastic staff in realistic working environments

What you'll study

Many aspects of hairdressing including cutting, colouring, blow-drying , setting and dressing hair.

You will be assessed on a continual basis.

Practical skills will be assessed on paying clients in a realistic working environment.

Entry requirements

You should  have three GCSEs  at a minimum of Grade C/4 including English and Maths or be working towards Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths.

You will be required to attend an interview in which you will be expected to complete a dexterity skills assessment and an individual interview.

Experience of working in a hair salon is desirable.

English and/or Maths will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.

Next steps

Successful completion of this course offers progression to a Level 3 NVQ course, or employment.
