Assessment

You must complete all assessments in the agreed timescales and submit these for marking to the Distance Learning Team by either post or email. Your work will then be sent to an assessor to be marked who will provide you with feedback along with advice and guidance to help you successfully complete the course.  There is also support available from the office team.

You will also be required to provide evidence which demonstrates achievement of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria associated with each unit.

Witness observation: You can be observed by an appropriate witness who has experience and knowledge in relation to counselling skills, such as a counsellor, manager or mentor. The witness will observe you demonstrating these skills before completing the witness statement in the assessment booklet.

Video recording: If you do not have access to an appropriate witness, you can record a video of yourself demonstrating particular counselling skills in a helping relationship. You will then need to watch the video back and reflect on your performance in order to answer. If you select this option you will need to send your video recording to your learner support advisor via email.

Upon successful complete of two assessments you will be awarded the CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
