Course overview

You can gain a Functional Skills Numeracy qualification on the fast-track 8 week course. We can offer support at Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2.

Place of study

The course takes place at the Advanced Learning Centre.

What you'll study

The course will develop three key skills:

  1. Number (including fractions, decimals and percentages)
  2. Measures and metrics
  3. Handling Data (including charts and graphs).

Each class lasts for three hours to give you plenty to time to learn, understand and practice your maths skills.

Assessment

Before starting the course you will be asked to complete an assessment to find out what you already know and understand.

During the course, you will be regularly assessed to see how you're doing, and prepare you for the formal exams.

You will be required to take formal exams at the end of each unit. These exams are timed, and you will be allowed to use a calculator.

Entry requirements

Acceptance onto the course is by assessment.

You will need to bring evidence of your highest English and/or maths qualification.
