Originally from Pakistan, Tabinda began by improving her English through ESOL.
“I was doing an ESOL course because I came from Pakistan so my language was not that good,” she explains. “So I applied for the ESOL course and I did two years of ESOL, entry two and entry three.”
Through hard work and dedication, she progressed quickly and achieved GCSE English and Maths, building a strong foundation for her next steps.
Progressing to ICT Courses at Bradford College
After completing her ESOL course, Tabinda moved on to ICT Software Level 1, continuing her journey with Bradford College.
“It was really amazing and the tutor she was really good, really kind and very supportive to me and all of the students,” she says.
Although she found parts of the course challenging, she stayed committed:
“Sometimes I found it overwhelming but my teachers, they helped me and they support me – they did support me a lot and I will never ever forget that.”

Support from tutors played a key role in Tabinda’s success across her ESOL and ICT courses at Bradford College.
“They helped me in different ways. Well, my English was not that good so my teacher did support me a lot in my language as well and they always gave me the inspiration.”
She reflects positively on the encouragement she received:
“They always said that you can do better… You can do it better, and this is inspiration to come here. I’m just so happy with that.”
Following a Dream in Law
While studying ICT, Tabinda stayed focused on her long-term goal of pursuing a career in law.
“So it’s my dream since I was a child to become a barrister.”
With guidance from mentors, she explored her options and made a confident decision to fast-track her studies:
“I applied for a Higher Education diploma and they accepted me as well and now I have a place in the Leeds College as well.”

Beyond qualifications, Tabinda has developed confidence and a strong sense of belonging during her time at college.
“When I came from Pakistan, my confidence was not that much… but here my confidence literally improved so much and I got best friends and the best tutors.”
She describes her experience as unforgettable:
“these three years have been the best years of my life literally I’ll never ever be able to forget them.”
