Building a dental career through an apprenticeship has been a rewarding and confidence‑boosting journey for Fiza Hussain, who has steadily progressed from introductory training to advanced clinical skills.
Fiza began with a Level 2 dental course, moved into a Level 3 Dental Nursing apprenticeship, and has since advanced into management within her practice. Now preparing to start a Level 4 Oral Health qualification, Fiza is excited to take on a role with more patient interaction and greater responsibility.
Bradford College has supported Fiza at every stage of their journey. “They’re very, very good. The teachers help you with everything. If you’re struggling or you don’t understand something, they’ll be by your side.” The College’s familiar environment, clear guidance and responsive tutors gave Fiza the reassurance she needed to progress at her own pace.
That encouragement has transformed Fiza’s confidence over time. “When you start Level 3, you don’t know which area you want to specialise in” she admits. “But once you qualify and become who you are, it opens up your options to many things, not just one thing.” Now, with more experience behind her, Fiza feels more open, independent and ready to take on broader responsibilities in the dental field.
Fiza praises Bradford College’s hands‑on support, clear expectations and strong sense of connection between learners and tutors. “With Bradford College, it’s face‑to‑face, they’re there,” she explains. “Even if you’re online, they’re there for you.” For Fiza, it’s the level of support that sets Bradford College apart, “You get so much support and training, it’s like we are a team really” they add.
Working in a dental practice has also given Fiza practical, real‑world experience that can’t be replicated in a classroom alone. “The main thing is communication with patients,” she says. “You learn life skills as you go along. In a classroom, it’s all verbal, but in real life, it finally clicks. You can put your hands on and do it.” Whether it’s understanding patient needs, improving independence or developing clinical confidence, these experiences have shaped Fiza’s growth both professionally and personally.
Looking ahead, Fiza is eager to continue building skills and progressing within oral health. And when it comes to recommending Bradford College, there’s no hesitation. “I always recommend Bradford College,” she says. “You get the support you need, and the tutors help you with everything.”
