Bradford College Students Shine at SkillsHouse CTE Awards 2026

A remarkable seven Bradford College students walked away with trophies from the 2026 SkillsHouse Careers and Technical Education (CTE) Awards.

The annual event celebrates success in vocational learning and career development across the district, with 122 finalists competing across 22 categories this year, with support from 20 employer sponsors.

The awards showcase outstanding work across careers and technical education, celebrating young people’s talents and the work of teachers, employers and partners who help create clear routes into jobs and professions.

Seven outstanding Bradford College students were named winners across a range of award categories, including:

  • Isa Musa – Essential Skills – Collaboration
  • Liam Gladwin – Essential skills – Flexibility and Adaptability
  • Cadeyrn Richards – Learner of the year – Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering
  • Mirza Baig – Learner of the year – Business
  • Adam Scholey – Learner of the year – Computing Science & Environmental Technologies
  • Joseph Bennett – Learner of the year – Hospitality, Tourism & Sport
  • Cody Underwood – Learner of the year – Public Services & Law


Councillor Andrew Judson, Bradford Council’s portfolio holder for economy, regeneration and planning, said:

“It’s great to see our children and young people developing vital skills for their future, supported by dedicated teachers and strong partnerships with local employers. These awards are a real celebration of the talent, potential and ambition of young people across our district.”

Special recognition was also given to long-standing Bradford College partner, Jon Hemingway of Abrahams & Carlisle Ltd, for his unwavering commitment to SkillsHouse Careers and Technical Education.

Andrew Laver, chair of the SkillsHouse Partnership Board, added:

“The most powerful investment we can make is in people and their potential, and it takes all of us, businesses, educators, and students, to turn that potential into real opportunity.”

SkillsHouse is part of Bradford Council and works with education and employers to help young people gain the skills and experience they need for the future.

The awards are designed to highlight how technical education can prepare young people for further study, training, and employment, while celebrating the vital support provided by teachers, employers, and community partners.
