Bradford College was proud to host the final Collaborative Social Value meeting of 2025, bringing together an outstanding group of supply chain partners to celebrate a year of shared achievements and community impact.
One of the standout moments of the day was witnessing the incredible mountain of children’s toys donated to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF). This generous contribution, made possible through the collective efforts of Considerate Constructors Scheme, Jo Rieny, Ace Partitions & Ceilings Ltd, Precision Facades, G&H, and GRK Civils, demonstrated the powerful social value that can be created when the construction industry comes together with a shared purpose.
Our staff and students were delighted to welcome attendees to campus, with a special mention to Construction student Joseph, who impressed guests by leading a hands-on introduction to bricklaying. Judging by the enthusiasm (and the brickwork produced), a few visitors may need to return for extra tuition before switching careers!
During the session, partners shared outstanding examples of best practice across the supply chain. We also heard valuable insights from Jo Rieny and Ben Hallinan on upcoming changes to the Considerate Constructors Scheme, while Bradford College’s own Greg Bourke outlined the fantastic opportunities available for employers to engage with our students and help close the construction skills gap.
The day continued with an inspiring presentation from Amanda Warrent and Georgie of CHSF, who spoke movingly about the charity’s life-changing support for children and families facing incredibly challenging times. To close the event, Rory Doyle highlighted the essential work of The Lighthouse Charity in supporting the physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing of those working in the construction sector, an important reminder of the need to look after ourselves and one another.

Bradford College looks forward to building on this collaborative momentum as we move into 2026 and continue working together to support our students, communities, and the wider construction industry.
