Musicians take Centre Stage for May virtual show

A showcase of talent from musicians at Bradford School of Art is taking place via a spectacular online concert entitled Centre Stage.

The Youtube Premiere will give music lovers the chance to see artists, bands and producers perform on Friday 28 May.

Alfie and the Bottle Heads

The performers are all studying the UAL Level Three Diploma in Music Performance and Production. The show will follow the very successful Bradford College Virtual Concert which took place last November.

Some music students have worked with professional videographer, Barney Shortman of SP Films, to create videos for the event. Other students have worked with professional artwork designers, recording and mixing engineers as well as community radio station BCB to promote their original music.

The line-up

  • Barbora Orackova
  • Lucy Pearson
  • Faith Roberts
  • Megan Dobbin
  • Kabeer Sindhu
  • Edgars Kleinsmits-Legzdins

Student and musician Carys Marshall is organising the event. She said: “There will be even more variety in the show than last time.”

Entertaining the crowds

As well as performances, the show will include bands, acoustic acts, animations, podcasts and video game music.

Instead of being performed from one stage, the performances will be recorded in different locations across Bradford School of Art, including the Greenhouse studio in the Lister Building. Students will also be entertaining crowds and promoting the event by busking in the city centre.

Don’t miss the chance to see these musicians perform

Celebrating our time at Bradford School of Art

Carys said: “There are covers of songs as well as original material. We are really excited about this.

“Our last performance through YouTube had more than 2,700 views and we hope this one will have even more.

“Some of us will be finishing our course and going on to university this year. We think this is an amazing way to celebrate our time at Bradford School of Art.”

The show will be premiered on 28 May 2021 at 7pm. You can catch the performance via Bradford College Centre Stage’s YouTube Channel and on Bradford College’s main Youtube channel.
