Inspiring Industry Insights: Bradford College Welcomes EssilorLuxottica Speaker to Engage with BSc Ophthalmic Dispensing Students

Last week, our second-year BSc (Hons) Ophthalmic Dispensing students were treated to an inspiring guest lecture from Elizabeth Yeowart-Montgomery BSc (Hons) MCOptom MBCLA, Regional Medical Science Liaison for North England, Scotland & Ireland at EssilorLuxottica, one of the world’s leading optical manufacturers.

Elizabeth delivered a fascinating and interactive session on myopia management, sharing the latest clinical findings and introducing the innovative Essilor Stellest™ myopia control spectacle lens, a product backed by robust scientific evidence and designed to make a real difference in children’s eye health.

“Spending time with undergraduates is a very rewarding aspect of my role,” said Elizabeth. “It’s always a pleasure to share the latest findings in the field of myopia management and to sing the praises of the Essilor Stellest™ lens. Thanks to Maryna and the whole department at Bradford College for always making me so welcome.”

Our students were equally enthusiastic, describing the session as: “A highly informative introduction to myopia management,” and “Now we have a better understanding of the options available to myopic children.”

Engaging directly with industry experts like Elizabeth helps our students gain valuable, real-world insight into current research and emerging technologies, preparing them for successful and impactful careers in ophthalmic dispensing.

A huge thank you to EssilorLuxottica and Elizabeth Yeowart-Montgomery for their time, expertise, and continued support of our ophthalmic dispensing students.
