Untold Stories: A Joyous Celebration of Voice, Identity, and Community at Bradford College

On Tuesday 5th August, Bradford College came alive with pride, purpose, and powerful storytelling as we celebrated the official launch of Untold Stories, an extraordinary anthology featuring the voices of over 80 incredible students and staff.

We didn’t just launch a book, we honoured lives, journeys, and the courage to be heard. From the moment the event began on campus, the atmosphere was electric. Heartfelt speeches set the tone before each writer was welcomed to the stage to receive their personal copy, their words, their truth, published for the world to see.

The room was filled with beaming smiles, applause that wouldn’t stop, and more than a few joyful tears. Families stood proudly beside their loved ones. Friends hugged. Cameras clicked. This was more than a launch, it was a moment of magic.

“It was incredibly moving to see so many students attending with their families to proudly receive their own copies of the book,” shared Lecturer Charlie Parkinson. “This event brought together generations of people from across the Bradford district — united by creativity, inclusivity, and yes… a love of cake!”

Untold Stories is a bold, beautiful invitation to speak up and be seen. Open to all students and staff, Untold Stories showcases real, lived experiences from across our diverse community. Whether typed, handwritten, signed, or anonymous, these stories are authentic, raw, and profoundly human.

At Bradford College, diversity isn’t a buzzword, it’s our heartbeat. Through Untold Stories, we’re amplifying the voices that too often go unheard, and building a culture grounded in self-confidence, equity, compassion, and pride.
