Frequently Asked Questions
T Levels are a nationally-recognised qualification that you can progress onto after GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels. A 2-year T Level course combines 80% classroom learning with 20% work experience on an industry placement, allowing you to develop the skills, experience and knowledge to progress onto further study or employment.
If you have recently completed your GCSEs or aged 16 to 19, you can begin to study on your chosen T Level course, providing you meet the specified entry requirements.
Most T Level courses require a minimum of 5 GCSEs (graded from 4-9), including English and Maths.
As well as receiving a nationally-recognised qualification, you’ll benefit from:
– A qualification equivalent to 3 A Levels
– Up to 168 UCAS points, beneficial if you go on to further education
– A 45 day industry-standard work placement
– Both the knowledge and experience for career progression
Similar to an apprenticeship, the T Level allows for both industry placement time as well as classroom learning. However, with a T Level you will spend more time in the classroom, split 80% classroom and 20% industry placement, compared with an apprenticeship that requires 80% on-the-job work experience and 20% classroom study.
Studying a 2 year T Level course will provide you with a qualification that is equivalent to 3 A Levels, the courses provide both the knowledge and experience to progress into further study or employment. A Fast Track to T Level course is a 1 year course for students with the potential and interest to study a T Level but require additional time and support to build up core skills in English and Maths, as well as identifying which course is perfect for their career progression.
