We will check your Maths and English skills and help you reach the level required to become a fire fighter. We require Level 2 (GCSE) English and Maths.
You will need to be physically fit to join the fire service.
Working in the community is a big part of the role. Understanding and accepting the variety of people in the community is important.
Firefighters can experience stressful situations at work and need to know how to care for their own and each other’s mental health.
Forster College provides WYFRS recruits with Mental Health First Aid training, helping people learn compassion, understanding and how to recognise the signs.
