UCAS timeline for 2019 applicants
July - September 2018
Spend this time researching Colleges and Universities and having a think about the course you want to do. You can visit Open Events so you can speak to tutors and students and get a feel for different places of study.
The UCAS application process opens for 2018 applicants.
October - December 2018
You should have started your UCAS application and be thinking about your five choices. You should also be working on your personal statement; make sure you have help and guidance with this and get it checked by a tutor or careers advisor.
The UCAS application deadline for the majority of undergraduate courses. You should submit your application and ensure you are 100% happy with your personal statement and choices.
UCAS Extra opens. If you’ve used all five choices and you’re not holding any offers, you might be able to add another choice. Bear in mind, you can only add one extra option at a time.
We will be inviting our applicants in to an Applicant Visit Day between February and April - this will give you an idea of what it’s like to study at our University Centre.
March - April 2019
There's still chance to apply through UCAS Extra. You can still submit a UCAS application if you didn’t meet the 15 January deadline, though bear in mind that applications submitted by the January deadline will be considered first.
Colleges and universities should reply to applications made by the 15 January deadline, if they do not respond UCAS will decline the application on their behalf. Still a chance to apply in Extra for those who are eligible.
If you have made an application after the 15 January deadline (not UCAS Extra) it will be forwarded onto your chosen colleges/universities. Any applications received after this point, will be entered into Clearing. Still chance to apply in Extra for those who are eligible.
Last chance to apply in Extra for those who are eligible. Clearing vacancies will appear in the search tool on UCAS, bear in mind the full list will be published on A Level results day.
A Level results day. Full clearing vacancy information available. If you don’t get the grades you required, you don’t have any offers or you’ve changed your mind about your choices, then Clearing is your best option. It’s your last opportunity to get a place on a course.
Clearing vacancies will be removed from the UCAS search tool.
